Bujyujyu: students tipped on fighting against genocide and its ideology

In a bid to carry on the fight against genocide and its ideology, the National Commission for the Fight against genocide (CNLG) gives lectures to different categories of people to urge them to take part in the fight.

It in this regards that on 13th July 2017, Redempta Kayitesi, the coordinator of the National Commission for the Fight against Genocide (CNLG) in Rwamagana and Kayonza districts gave a lecture on fighting against genocide and its ideology in GS Bujyujyu, located  in Muyumbu sector, Rwamagana district.

He explained how Rwandans lived in harmony before the advent of colonialists and how the later divided Rwandans in order to rule them through their slogan ‘divide and rule’. She also explained that the regimes that seized power after independence continued to keep abreast and to teach the divisionism and genocidal ideology until they lead the country to the Genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi.

She also expounded the history of the Genocide against the Tutsi, how it was planned and executed and how its masterminds, perpetrators and their allies continue to deny and trivialize it.

She challenged them to beware with whoever might tend to impart divisionism and genocidal ideology among them, and to play an active role in fighting against genocide ideology, starting from their families.

 A total of 299 students and 10 teachers attended to the lecture.

 Jean Bidugu, the school’s head teacher thanked the CNLG for the lecture ,and suggested that such lectures be frequently given.
