Rusizi: educators commit to explain the history of the Genocide against the Tutsi to students

After a lecture on the fight against genocide and its ideology that was given by the coordinator of the National Commission for the Fight against Genocide (CNLG) in Rusizi and Nyamasheke district, on 11th July 2017, the staff and teachers of Groupe Scolaire Frank Adamson Kibogora (GSFAK) located in Kanjongo sector, Rusizi district, have committed to explained the country’s history, especially the history of the Genocide against the Tutsi to the students.

Boaz Uwihoreye, the Dean of studies in this school said that for the time reserved for any lesson, some minutes will be spared to explain to students their country’s history, especially the history of the Genocide against the Tutsi.  he said that this will help students to deeply understand the history of their country so that they can be able to whoever might tell them a distorted history for any purposes, and also an opportunity for them to understand how the genocide ideology was kept abreast until it lead the country to the Genocide against the Tutsi; which he said will lead them to fighting against whoever might tend to reinstill such an ideology in them.

The students also committed to brush of any kind of divisionism, to distant themselves with whoever might tend to destroy the country’s achievement and to observe the Ndi Umunyarwanda programme. The lecture was attended by 592 students and 30 staffers and teachers.
