Nyakarambi: dealers commit to support commemoration programmes and back needy survivors
Over 180 traders in Nyakarambi commercial center in Kigina Sector, Kirehe District have resolved to support and take part in commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi and back needy survivors.
They made the pledges on 13thMarch 2017 after Michel Nshimiyumuremyi, the coordinator of the National Commission for the Fight against Genocide (CNLG) in Ngoma and Kirehe districts gave them a lecture on strategies to fight against Genocide, Genocide ideology and trivialization of the Genocide against the Tutsi.
The traders have also committed to take part in fighting against Genocide ideology by brushing aside whatever can instate hatred and revisionism amongst them. They also resolved to inform leaders on whoever may exhibit words or acts comprising genocide ideology.
Besides, they resolved to organize commemorative ceremonies to remember and pay tribute to their colleagues; the former traders who were victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi.
While giving the lecture, Michel Nshimiyumuremyi, the CNLG coordinator in Ngoma and Kirehe districts was accompanied by the Vice Mayor for finance and economic development in Kirehe District, army and reserve force commandants in Kirehe district, Executive Secretary of Kigina Sector and representatives of the Private Sector Federation (PSF) in the district.
