Huye: CNLG urged secondary school students to fight against genocide ideology
Through its programme to fight against genocide ideology, genocide denial and genocide trivialization, the National Commission for the Fight against Genocide (CNLG) gives lectures to different categories of people, urging them to take part in the process.
It is in this regard that on 26th and 27th January 2016, CNLG gave lectures to around 570 secondary school students in ES Butare and Regina Pacis secondary schools in Huye District.
The CNLG representative in Huye and Gisagara districts explained them about the history of Rwanda in both precolonial, colonial and postcolonial periods. He further explained the history of the Genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi, its preparation and execution; and the role the then youth played in it.
Besides, he explained how masterminders of the Genocide against the Tutsi, some of its perpetrators and their supporters continue to deny and trivialize it, spreading its ideology through various channels.
They pledged to be actively involved in the battle against genocide ideology and vowed to be the first to blow the whistle against whoever exhibiting words or activities comprising genocide ideology.
